Discover yourself in order to desire big
I think, a lot of people live their lives having no clue what they want. They usually follow the American dream without a second thought, just because that’s what’s expected of them.
Your not making full use of your potential. One thing I will share, you only have one life; make the most out of it and do things that make you happy. You need to start right now. If you don’t know what you really want in life, you’re not alone. Thousands, if not millions, of people wander the earth every day without a quest. If you don’t want to spend your life wandering aimlessly, you have to get to know yourself first to see who you really are.
Aristotle said, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” I think to truly know yourself is the most important skill you can ever possess. When you know who you are, you know what you need to do, instead of looking for permission from others to do what you already know you should do. It allows you to bypass tons of frustration caused by putting time into the wrong things. Yes, life is supposed to be full of trial and error, but this lets you find the best areas for you to experiment with in the first place. Once you know yourself, you will become more confident, you will understand your purpose, and you will begin to make a big impact on the world.
Be quiet and Be alone
You cannot and will not be able to know yourself until you take the time to be alone and still. Many people don’t know themselves because any sort of alone time scares them; it’s too uncomfortable to be alone with every flaw staring back at them. It isn’t until you get alone, evaluate yourself and are completely truthful with yourself that you will actually be able to see every facet of your life, the good and the bad. Be quiet, Be alone and discover your true self. That’s why I love to be alone. I have that time to sort my ideas, plan and then actually write.
Find what you are passionate about
Following passion of any kind is a great thing, and you need to pay attention when it comes because it indicates an area of your life that you need to pay more attention to. If we’re talking about following your passion in work, it’s a great thing. If we’re talking about having more passion for life, it’s a fabulous thing. Focus more on passion; understand what drives your passion, and you’ll make a bigger impact. Passion produces effort and continuous effort produces results.
Realize who you truly are, not who you want to be
I know you already have a set idea of who you desperately want to be, but it might not be who you were designed to be; this is why knowing who you really are is so important. When you know who you are, you will finally see where you and your specific gifts fit into the bigger picture.
Use your reflections to fight your biggest fears, because when you understand who you are meant to be, your purpose will finally become bigger than your fears. When you realize who you are, you will spend less time spinning your wheels. Focusing on your strengths gives you the needed traction to begin making a bigger and better difference in the world. When you know yourself, you will find more peace, and you will find success quicker than ever before. Now go take action and find your true self, starting today.
Be selfish for (life, dream, passion etc). You have to be selfish! Yes selfish!!
You can’t pinpoint exactly what you want in life if you’re constantly sacrificing your time and dreams for other people. You have to put yourself first. Ask yourself If you weren’t tied down by your job, family, friends, or anything else, then what would you be doing right now? Always remember that it’s okay to put yourself first, because if you don’t, then no one else will.
Don’t feel bad for being selfish. It’s your life. It’s time for you to live it exactly the way you want to. If you constantly regret things you did or didn’t do in the past, then you won’t be able to move forward. Don’t live in the past. Live in the present. If you did something wrong in the past learn the lesson but don’t feel regret. Here is an example, do you drive looking in the rearview mirror or do you concentrate on what’s in front of you? There is your answer.
Figure out what you need
Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what you need. Sit down and think about what you need the most. Is it your family? The freedom to express yourself? Love? Financial security? Something else? If it helps, you can make a list of priorities. Also think about the kind of legacy you want to leave behind.
Determine what really bothers you
You can soar only by pushing back against something you don’t want. Figure out what upsets you, and be specific about it. Don’t just say that you hate studying, reading, planning, your job, or your life. Pinpoint exactly why you hate it. What bothers you, and how can you fix it? How much do you want to fix it? Write it all down so you can see it all on paper and out of your mind.
Determine what makes you truly happy
There’s no waste to life if you’re happy living it. Your happiness is the root of your desires. So take a few moments and really think about what makes you happy. Is it traveling? Being around children? Owning a successful business? Your significant other? Financial freedom? Job? Marriage? Anything else? For me it’s reading, writing, exercising, and simply spending time at the beach alone. Take the time to figure out yours. Once you pinpoint the one thing that makes you happy the most, you’ll have a pretty clear idea of what you should strive for in your life.
Another point, whoever is your boyfriend/girlfriend, fiancé, partner, or husband/wife, they should respect, understand, and love who you really are. If they don’t, their not supposed to be in your life. Period.
